The Exec

Exec tasks in general


  • To promote the club both within the university and in the public domain

  • To regularly update the website

  • To ensure that all information portrayed reflects positively on the individual, the club and the university

  • To obtain sponsorship for the club

  • To make sure the university have up to date and true information about our club, our performance and the courses we run

  • To correspond with the club about competitions and other matters

  • To correspond with the exec and make sure that they have the information required to be able to fulfil their jobs

  • To make sure there is suitable transport for each competition

  • To correspond with other university clubs

  • To liaise with the Union And Sports Officer

  • To make sure we have areas for events and training

  • Answer any queries

  • To organise the annual Warwick competition and Varsity Competitions

  • To arrange fundraising.

  • To organise exec meetings for times which the majority of people can attend

  • To organise entries for grants, club colours and other awards

  • To assist or instigate Publicity with any current Publicity Officer

  • It is encouraged that those running for president have been on the exec for a year before and have not been president before. It is also encouraged that there shall be both a male and female president

  • To take minutes at exec meetings

  • To ensure that everyone receives a copy of the exec meeting minutes

  • To assist or instigate Publicity with any current Publicity Officer

  • To make sure every member of the club and exec has an equal involvement and chance of succeeding in every aspect of the club

  • To ensure that every person has the same opportunity in joining the club, competing for the club and at socials

  • Drinking is not obligatory at any occasion and members should be not put under any pressure to do anything they do not wish to do

  • To be a confidante for teams and the team selection process

  • To liaise with the exec about teams

  • To sort out problems as best they can about teams and the team selection process and to act as a link between trainer/president/union/relevant person

  • To order kit for the whole club on a couple of occasions

  • To collect money for this kit

  • To make sure equipment which the club needs is budgeted for and bought

  • To maintain the equipment

  • To organise the resale of kit

  • To attend Equal Opportunities in Publications Course and ensure it is abided by

  • To make sure we have enough money to run the club

  • To try and stick to the budget

  • To ensure payment for competition entries

  • To correspond with Union and President about any money problems or grant applications

  • To work out petrol costs for competitions in advance where possible

  • To organise with the subsequent Treasurer (where possible) the budget for the following year

  • To improve the squad at a competitive level whilst involving each member of the club equally

  • Allow a variety of sessions to cater for the whole club at a variety of times

  • To ensure that the club know when training times are

  • To ensure everyone has an equal chance at succeeding

  • To keep a track of who attends sessions and to give everyone an equal chance to prove their ability

  • To ensure all training is safe and that the participants understand fully as to what they are to do

  • To warn participants of any dangers

  • To adhere to the University and RLSS constitutions

    Position: RLSS Liason and Course Co-ordinator


  • To be a lifesaving TA where possible

  • To make sure all club members know what courses are running, when, where and the prerequisites required

  • To ensure each member of the club has a current RLSS Lifesaving Certificate if competing in an RLSS Competition

  • To check prerequisites for courses and competitions

  • To arrange courses, trainers, assessors, assessments and equipment for courses

  • To fill in paperwork in advance and ensure the RLSS have registered the courses

  • To fill in assessment forms and make sure the assessor knows all information

  • To brief the candidates for assessments

  • To make sure all teachers are adhering to the RLSS Code of Conduct

  • To ensure that there is a Qualified Lifesaving TA for future years

  • To organise regular and inclusive socials for the club in a variety of locations

  • To make sure the club adheres to the Union's policy of safe and equal initiations

  • That no activity shall be forced upon a club member

  • To ensure that drinking is not compulsory in order to attend/enjoy a social

  • To organise the Warwick Competition social

    Position: Webmaster


  • To keep the website up to date

  • To ensure anyone who wants to share pictures online knows how to do so

  • To write, or ensure someone else provides, reports on every major club activity, including competitions to place on website

  • To attend Equal Opportunities in Publications Course and ensure it is abided by
