Title: p-adic cohomology and counting points
abstract : We will talk about p-adic methods for computing the Hasse-Weil zeta function of a curve or a surface over a finite field. After introducing some p-adic cohomology we will focus on families of curves in toric surfaces and explain how one can apply deformation and fibration techniques to them to obtain fast point counting algorithms.
