Funding

There is an annual registration fee plus an additional charge for each module. Project costs are generally borne by the company. In some cases partial support may be available from the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) or other sources. Current information can be obtained as outlined below.

External Support

The main source of external support for University based research engineers on the EngD is the EPSRC. A number of awards are available each year, but demand greatly exceeds supply. Applications for awards can only be made through Warwick Manufacturing Group.

To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum 2.1 Honours or equivalent and meet certain nationality and residence requirements. There is also an expectation that the awards be used to support younger, less experienced applicants.

More limited support may be available from other trust funds. In general, it is first necessary to be offered a place on the programme. Closing dates for the awards may be up to a year in advance of starting.
