Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant/Fellow position to work on a project led by Dr Erwin Verwichte in the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics at the University of Warwick, to model magnetohydrodynamic waves (specifically Compressional Alfvén Eigenmodes) and their interaction with energetic particles in magnetically confined fusion. The work will also involve comparison with experimental data in collaboration with national and international fusion facilities. Candidates will have, or expect to attain, a PhD or equivalent degree in an area relevant to high temperature plasma physics, with experience in magnetically confined plasma physics and applications of magnetohydrodynamic theory. Candidates should have experience with developing simulation codes in a programming language such as Fortran 90.

This is a full-time, fixed term position for a period of 11 months, starting as soon as possible from 1 August 2014.
