So that the projects' participants are all talking about the same things at the same time, the following definitions are offered. These are not necessarily the generally defined meanings of the words. They are also open to discussion and re-definition by the project's participants.
Asset data The images, animations, VR models, etc.
Content object The set of assets and their metadata, together with text providing a context for the assets. NB: The asset metadata is actually data within the content object.
Learning object The use made of the content objects, e.g. a lecture, PowerPoint presentation, essay, etc.
Metadata The description of the data, such as name, author, file type, etc.
Pedagogical metadata The description of use, and the evaluation of the learning package, its success, the process of re-purposing etc.
