Aided Assessment (CAA)
The
next step is to provide a way for students to assess their own
progress and understanding of the material. Without human feedback
or very sophisticated artificial intelligence, this usually means
some form of objective test delivered as an online quiz. Because
it is objective and the possible responses are known, the feedback
can also be automated. Students can therefore receive immediate
feedback. This use of CAA for self-diagnosis / formative assessment
can be quick to set up and if used wisely can provide valuable
feedback on the effectiveness of the course to the course tutor.
